Welcome to a website for former employees of Boeing's Satellite Division alleging class action age discrimination in the reductions in force conducted in 2008 and 2009 -- your source for case information and updates, easy access to court filings, and the latest news.
What's the Name of the Case?
The case is called Thornton Stone, et al. v. Boeing Satellite Division, Inc. It is filed in the Superior Court for Los Angeles County in Los Angeles, California.
What's At Stake?
At stake is the right of employees 40 years of age and older to continue their employment, based on the quality of their work, rather than being laid off due to their age, stereotypes about the productivity and capabilities of older employees, or the employer's desire to terminate higher paid, longer tenured and older workers.

Can I Help?
If you have information that may help us -- the attorneys for the former employees -- in proving that Boeing engaged in age discrimination in the RIFs conducted in 2008 and 2009 and you are a person with whom we can talk, we would like to hear from you. We are particularly interested in talking with persons who believe they have experienced age discrimination in the Boeing Satellite Division in the last few years. Please click here to learn more. |
Am I A Class Member?
The plaintiffs will not have an opportunity to ask the judge to approve the proposed class for several months. Until the judge rules, nobody is a class member.
When they have the opportunity, the plaintiffs intend to ask the judge to approve a class of former Boeing Satellite Division employees who were
- age 40 or older when terminated from employment by Boeing;
- in an engineering or other non-management, salaried position when terminated by Boeing;
- at any time from January 1, 2008 through the present.
Boeing's Satellite Division employs persons in El Segundo, Huntington Beach, and Seal Beach, California.
